Push then the 'Save' button of the dialog box (after having selected a path of course) and you will be able to open your image under MS Paint (because it does not recognize PNGs - at least versions prior to Windows XP). Second note: Another solution consists in downloading IrfanView.
Once the soft is installed on your PC, you'll be able to copy-paste between IrfanView and Paint, allowing you to open sprite sheets or backgrounds in PNG, and exporting them into MSPaint. The contrary is also possible and you'll be able to export an image from Paint to paste it into IrfanView as well, and by the same occasion saving it in PNG format. Ideal for people who can't save their comics or sprite sheets in PNG:P.
